Expose Icons is built to stay out of your data. This page describes everything the app and this website collect — it's short, because there isn't much.

The app

Expose Icons reads the window list (via the Screen Recording permission) and window titles only to render icons and labels in Mission Control, on your screen. None of that information ever leaves your Mac: no window contents, no titles, no app names are transmitted anywhere.

The app sends anonymous usage pings, at most one launch ping and one activity ping per day: a random identifier generated on your Mac, the app version, the macOS version and the system language. No personal data, no window data. You can turn this off entirely:

defaults write ExposeIcons telemetryDisabled -bool YES

Licensing

When you activate a license key, the app contacts our license server with the key and your Mac's name (so you can recognize which of your Macs uses a seat). When you buy a license, our payment processor Stripe handles the payment; we store your email address together with your license key so we can look it up for you and provide support.

This website

The site uses first-party, cookie-less analytics: anonymous page-view and click events with a random identifier stored in your browser's localStorage. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts.

Your rights

Email contact@exposeicons.com to ask what we hold about your purchase, or to have it deleted (we keep what's legally required for accounting).
